Our Stories

Our Stories

“Our Stories” is a collaborative effort of Mississippians with disabilities and people who love them to share our successes and struggles as they relate to advocacy, education, employment, and independence.  In these stories, we share experiences that have helped us and those that have hurt us. Our hope is that you, too, will come to see that “we are all more alike than different.”  We invite and welcome you to be a part of our journey as we continue to advocate for ourselves and others. “Our Stories” was initiated as a leadership project for the LEND program by Dawn Lewis at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Institute for Disability Studies and has continued to grow into the site you see today.
