Dikembe McCann currently serves as a second-year full time Training, Resources, and Information for the Advancement of Disability (TRIAD) Service AmeriCorps member. Prior to his service with AmeriCorps, Dikembe was a self-advocate representative with the Pine Belt Transition program. Dikembe also was a participant in Project Search and the Transition of Teens to Adult Life (ToTAL) Summer Enrichment Program, established to assist in the pre-employment needs of youth and young adults with disabilities ages 14-21. ToTAL provides job exploration, workforce readiness training and work experiences/internships. Dikembe is now employed through Chick-Fil-A where he enjoys serving the community with a smile. Dikembe’s message to others is “Don’t Give Up! Regardlessif you have a disabilty or not, keep looking what fits you the best”.
