Layna James currently serves as full-time Training, Resources, and Information for the Advancement of Disability (TRIAD) Service AmeriCorps member. Previously, Layna served as a K-1 Tutor with the Grenada County School District AmeriCorps program. In addition to being a full-time AmeriCorps member, Layna serves as the TRIAD Communications Officer for Special Olympics College. Layna will also be serving as the Special Olympics College basketball coach for the 2023 season. Layna enjoys serving the community through teaching health education at the local schools, serving in a community food pantry and assisting in thrift stores. Layna’s message to others is her personal motto . . . “Never Give Up! Keep Going!”.
