Gunner Brooks currently serves as the President of the Gulf Coast STEP UP to Leadership Council, an inclusive organization that gives individuals with and without disabilities the opportunity to develop skills through participation in service and recreational activities in the community. In addition, Gunner currently serves as a Training, Resources, and Information for the Advancement of Disability (TRIAD) Service AmeriCorps member for his second year and is a Self-Advocate Trainee for the 2022 – 2023 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. Gunner’s goal is to continue pursuing his education and to live independently. Gunner’s message to others is “Let your disability be your ability, and do not fall down”.
